Building for the Future

The generous and far-sighted individuals who contribute to the SFJAZZ Endowment Fund help ensure the long-term stability of the organization. When you make a gift to the Endowment Fund, the principal of your gift remains untouched in perpetuity, while the interest income gained is allocated to support the programs of SFJAZZ.

Donors may make a contribution to the Endowment Fund with a single gift, a multi-year pledge, or by making a planned gift, such as a bequest or a charitable remainder trust. Gifts may be made in your name or in remembrance of a friend or family member, and they can be structured to reflect your interests and serve as an enduring acknowledgement of your love of jazz.

Gifts may be directed to any or all of the following special funds:

  • The SFJAZZ Education Fund: supports jazz education programs in Bay Area schools and the community
  • The SFJAZZ Commissions Fund: supports the creation and presentation of new works in jazz music
  • The SFJAZZ Discretionary Fund: provides a pool of unrestricted funds for the organization.

Gift of Securities

Making a gift of appreciated securities is an excellent way to give to SFJAZZ. By giving securities directly to SFJAZZ, you may avoid capital gains taxes on the stock's increased value, and your charitable tax deduction may equal the full value of the securities at the time of donation - a double tax benefit.
For your convenience, SFJAZZ has accounts with several prominent brokerage houses.
